COLOUR BLIND – D. Dagenais – November 26, 2014 (alternate C – G repeats) Looking out my window on a grey day a steel wall in front of me I’d like to see the waves They might be blue You can’t say if you can see Am G Em Maybe it is sunny on the other side of this Am G E Monochromatic endless abyss F G I would like to take you somewhere C Am High above this cloud F G I could like to take you somewhere Am D G But I don’t know how Listen to the rain fall and the stinging ice That’s kicking off the leaves I think I remember green But it isn’t anywhere that I can see Maybe there’s a meadow with a million blossoms And a thousand colours Wouldn’t that be awesome? I would like to take you somewhere Far away from here I would like to take you somewhere Somewhere the sky is clear F G Somewhere that you are mine F G C G-Am-D And I am not colour blind D – A Repeats Laying by a green hill Is a red shore beneath and azure sky The ocean stains us blue As the current goes finger painting by Bm A Fm Like a dream of a painting by Monet Bm A F It’s just a fantasy let’s take it anyway G A I would like to take you somewhere D Bm Beyond all we know G A I would like to take you somewhere Bm E Tell me you’d like to go G A Somewhere that you are mine G A D And I am not colour blind

When I had pigtails and wore bandaids on my knees I had some rollerskates and a kite and I believed if i went fast enough then i would be relieved of gravity flying has never been so easy in middle school i found a game i liked a lot i rode m y skateboard while out walking with my dog when Rover ran I thought the land must surely drop it's gravity flying has never been so easy I look back not long ago i could fly and i could float nothing ever brought me down too far i might have been lighter then i'd like to think that I still can hitch my dreams up to a falling star cause flying has never been so easy i grew up i bought a car i found a man we made a million dreams and a half a million plans we'd hit the road so hard that it must surely bend the gravity flying has never been so easy.

The last dance before midnight is a sweet sweet waltz Lily she waits by the side of the wall he takes her hand she nods and she stands in her dress of blue she shimmers like jewels he's typically fooled by the way she moves oh it's been a bad year for the flowers of spring rain and snow falling she' s freezing again The last dance before midnight is an old old song he's amused and surprized when she sings along she knows every word like it's something she heard in her cradle He falls half in love and he'll take her home if he's able oh it's been a bad year for the flowers of spring not that you know that for how she sings just for tonight she's lifting a light throught the fog that clutters her head the voices of dead and the gone it's been a bad year for the flowers of spring though she has prayed no one is answering the last dance of before midnight draws to a close he steps back confused as wordless she goes she doesn't look back but the looking glass holds her reflection she's melting away like the dawn under day's insurrection it's been a bad year for the flowers of spring under a wave she's disappearing it's been a bad year for the flowers of spring one last song one last chance to sing the last dance before midnight that sweet sweet waltz
