Poe's Ghost 03:07
Poe’s Ghost Once upon a winter’s night reading by the firelight I thought I heard a rapping tap tapping on my window It was no raven was no crow I picked up the book once more reading of the cold Lenore I thought I heard a knock and a rattle at my kitchen door It was no raven was no crow Just the wind and nothing more Death would be a welcome guest on such a lonely night as this I would be a gracious host making tea for Poe’s ghost I lay upon my sunken couch sleepy as the fire burned out I thought I heard a footfall and a scuffle on my kitchen floor It was no raven was no crow Just the wind and nothing more Death would be a welcome guest on such a lonely night as this I would be a gracious host making tea for Poe’s ghost As I slumbered off to sleep I swore that he was there with me I thought I felt a settling like a sigh on the corner of my bed It was no raven was no crow Just the lonely ghost of Poe settling in to watch me sleep I pray the Lord his soul to keep Death would be a welcome guest on such a lonely night as this I would be a gracious host making tea for Poe’s ghost Once upon a winter’s night

All Hallows’ Eve It’s a strange holiday Something wicked this way comes It’s a strange place to play The bone yards and the gallows On the front lawns Send me your cadaver kisses Blow them to me On the autumn breeze Let me rest my head against Your boney chest A silent heart I need All Hallows’ Eve All Hallows’ Eve Such a strange holiday Ghosts and witches pace the walk A strange way to celebrate The things you’d see But rather not Trace an icy digit Down the center of my Supplicating spine Wrap me in a mist Of mystery and murder So sublime Oh Darkness mine Oh Darkness mine When the veil thins I come face to face with life It’s not always light Send me your cadaver kisses Blow them to me On the autumn breeze Let me rest my head against Your boney chest A silent heart I need All Hallows’ Eve All Hallows’ Eve

Boo! 02:31
Boo! The boogeyman is gonna get you Hear him underneath your bed The boogeyman is gonna get you From the dark a voice just said “I’m lonely just like you” “So Boo! Boo! Boo!” Something dark is gonna grab you Out walking late at night Something sharp is gonna stab you See the glimmer of the knife Cause he’s lonely just like you So Boo! Boo! Boo! Jack the Ripper is looking for some company With a little insight on despair Jack gives some brilliant conversation When he doesn’t catch you unaware The Ripper’s gonna rip you In some dark corner of the street Bloody Jack is gonna whisper In your ear he’ll sound so sweet Cause he’s lonely just like you So Boo! Boo! Boo! Jack the Ripper is polishing his madness On the corner of your sanity Jack’s a butcher or a strange gynecologist With some skill in surgery The boogeyman is gonna get you Hear him underneath your bed The boogeyman is gonna get you From the dark a voice just said “I’m lonely just like you” “So Boo! Boo! Boo!”

Finding Dimes Grandpa kept a jar of dimes he said he'd find them everywhere and a penny saved is a penny earned the day that Grandpa passed away my grandmother gave me that mason jar of lessons learned and I when to the store and traded them for candy and I walked home feeling sad I wished I'd never even opened up the bottle of the dimes of my Granddad I put the bottle on the shelf meant to fill it up myself and I've thought of it so many times when I'm broke and feeling down defeated kicked around it always seems I'm finding dimes In the most unlikeliest of places inside shoes and cups I find it seems just like his hand is on my shoulder whenever I am finding dimes I keep the dimes all in a mason on a shelf down in the basement sometimes when it's overcast I take them down and count them out silver circles all around each more precious than the last and I spend memories like dimes in the candy store until the sun begins to shine I have never really ever been alone while I’ve been finding dimes and I spend memories like dimes in the candy store until the sun begins to shine I have never really ever been alone while I’ve been finding dimes Grandpa kept a jar of dimes he said he'd find them everywhere and a penny saved is a penny earned

Dead Man’s Lips All the ghosts out stalking the graveyard They are rattling their bones The moon hangs naked belly on the ground Like Buddha come to town Wouldn’t you love to love me Down here in the mist There’s no indiscretion in these Dead man’s lips Hear the wind moaning like a lover In the valleys and the mounds Sky hangs clouds against the moon Like a funeral shroud Wouldn’t you love to love me Down here in the pit No lies get past these Dead man’s lips Other lovers tell you stories Other lovers make you cry Other lovers disappear but You always know where this one lies Come here come a little closer Tell me troubles and your woes If you got some secrets to spill well This is as far as they will go I know you’d love to love me Life you’d gladly quit Hush now cuddle up and kiss these Dead man’s lips Wouldn’t you love to love me Down here in the mist There’s no indiscretion in these Dead man’s lips

FORGET ME NOTS It’s been years since you’ve been gone The other day I heard your song Floating up from down below In the garden where Forget Me Not’s grow I turned to look, I was alone I heard your voice singing low Rich from the earth the music flowed In the garden where Forget Me Not’s grow Flowers bloom and flowers die June soon passes to July But we remember those we know In the garden where Forget Me Not’s grow It’s been years since I last sang Forgotten lines and old refrains I have lost more than I know In the garden where Forget Me Not’s grow I pressed my ear close to the earth A lullaby came from the dirt So I slept between the rows In the garden where Forget Me Not’s grow Flowers bloom and flowers die June soon passes to July But we remember those we know In the garden where Forget Me Not’s grow It’s been years since you’ve been gone The other day I heard your song Floating up from down below In the garden where Forget Me Not’s grow

No one gets scared till after the lights go out No one admits to praying for themselves Every one’s brave under the morning sun oh But under that full moon we come undone Lock up your windows and doors Something’s coming and it’s not so natural All of the legends and lore Around midnight are much more factual A silver slug kept on the mantle shelf And if you get bit best just keep it to yourself Because no one is saying what everyone’s thinking aloud Oh I used to be a werewolf but I’m alright now Oh I used to be a werewolf but I’m alright now Lock up your children & wife Something’s coming and it’s not so nice Old stories you’ve heard all your life Grow claws around midnight It’s anyone’s guess where I was last night Shirt is in shreds looks like I had a fight This might be bloodbBut I don’t know just how oh Oh I used to be a werewolf but I’m alright now Oh I used to be a werewolf but I’m alright now I used to be a werewolf but I’m

Melancholy 02:25
Melancholy Here the wind in the tree A plaintive melody of old melancholy I know him well From every dream Daylight hides it in between That old melancholy Try to run Try to hide From the dark inside That old melancholy Hear the howl in the night That old demon taking flight That old melancholy He’s beautiful and cold Scratching on your soul That old melancholy That old melancholy

Old Liar 02:46
Old Liar Game of chess on a Saturday I move my bishop He counters with something I didn’t expect Death’s not so bad But he cheats at games of chance And strategy Your queen up his sleeve If you turn your back That old liar The rules don’t apply Everyone dies everyone dies Cup of tea on a Saturday I raise a topic he fills it out Like a bureaucrat Death knows about Red tape and things like that The ins and outs How to go about unnoticed That old liar The rules don’t apply Everyone dies everyone dies We’ve had good conversation I’ve won three out of five I’m sensing his frustration He’s reaching for his scythe That old liar The rules don’t apply Everyone dies everyone dies The rules don’t apply Everyone dies everyone dies Late at night on a Saturday Taste of gin a silent toast between parting friends Death’s patient but he gets you in the end An ace up his sleeve he has standing by That old liar The rules don’t apply Everyone dies everyone dies The rules don’t apply Everyone dies everyone dies Game of chess on a Saturday You move your bishop He counters with something You didn’t expect Death’s not so bad But he cheats at games of chance The rules don’t apply Everyone dies everyone dies The rules don’t apply Everyone dies everyone dies

The Last Waltz of Sandy Magee Death waltzed with Sandy Magee 1-2-3 1-2-3 She stepped on his feet and attempted to lead 1-2-3 1-2-3 When she was out of breath he laid her down by the river And shuffled along in time with the song in his bones And oh... Death waltzed on the corner of the street 1-2-3 1-2-3 Some people said he was light on his feet 1-2-3 1-2-3 He partners with everyone under the sun eventually He dances with dreams and impossible schemes and all hope And oh.... Death waltzed by the side of road 1-2-3 1-2-3 Raising up dust and kicking up stones 1-2-3 1-2-3 He shattered the glass like diamonds on grass, like a mirrored ball Suspended above an orchestra playing the last waltz And oh... Death waltzed with Sandy Magee 1-2-3 1-2-3 She stepped on his feet and attempted to lead 1-2-3 1-2-3

The Devil 02:29
The Devil’s in the details Like crossed T’s and dotted I’s Lawyers take the truth and twist it ‘till it lies The only thing I know for sure is everybody dies No matter meticulous your life is planned It’s still the Devil’s hand The Devil’s in the details Like counting coins into a cup The way that politicians take the truth and beat it up To a bloody pulp that you can hardly recognize The Devil’s in the details And the disguise Everybody’s got bad dreams Everybody’s got wicked schemes Everybody’s got bad dreams Everybody’s got Everybody’s got Greed The Devil’s in the details The way the numbers all add up To pretty little rows of red that look like blood The only thing to count on is when the ink runs out The Devil’s in the details And the doubt Everybody’s got bad dreams Everybody’s got wicked schemes Everybody’s got bad dreams Everybody’s got Everybody’s got Greed The Devil’s in the details Like hunger eating you alive You can only hope to live you cannot hope to thrive The only thing that you can taste is the bitterness of life The Devil’s in the details And the lies Everybody’s got bad dreams Everybody’s got wicked schemes Everybody’s got bad dreams Everybody’s got Everybody’s got Greed

Say so long but not goodbye Bury me beneath a sky of Kleenex cloud Try to laugh, try not to cry Walk away from the grave Its emptiness Cause I’m not there I never was I’ll never be further than your own memory I’m not there I never was It’s just a box six feet deep It could never be me Say so long but not farewell Cause time plays tricks It’s nine, it’s six then a year is gone Try to love and carry on And walk away from the stone You’ve been leaning on Cause I’m not there I never was You’ll never be further than your heart from me I’m not there I never was It’s just a box six feet deep It could never be me Time will take these bones Until there’s nothing left to show Time will lift this stone And given time you’ll know That I’m not there I’ve never been I’ll never been further than your memory I’m not there I never was It’s just a box six feet deep It has never been me Say so long but just for now Bury me beneath a sky of Kleenex cloud You know I’ll be alright some how Walk away from this place Its emptiness

I died I was fine ‘til I reached the banks and brine of the River Styx And the boney hand of the Ferryman with his lantern lit. He carried me forth over the waves and we talked about sports Music and games It doesn’t matter how well you play You lose in the end to the Ferryman He wouldn’t take coin He wouldn’t take gold He said “this gig it’s getting old And I like talking to you about life Would you be my wife” And that’s how I ended up here in a place between Heaven and Hell It might be Limbo I can’t tell the Ferryman doesn’t talk anymore I wave to him from the shore I died it was fine but I never reached the place that was really mine Cause the boney hand of the Ferryman had its own design He wouldn’t take penny He wouldn’t take plea And he purposed on bended knee Saying “I get lonely sometimes too, just like you What am I gonna do?” In a place between living and dead something that sweet can go to your head And the Ferryman doesn’t stop anymore I wave to him from the shore I died it was fine on the banks near the brine of the River Styx The boney heart of the Ferryman kept a fire lit A touch searing and cold, he never changed but I grew old He said “I can’t look at you like this” And slipped away to his ship on the River Styx I died I was fine ‘til I reached the banks and brine of the River Styx And the boney hand of the Ferryman with his lantern lit.
